In 2016 a controversial regulation was passed (Legge 242) dictating that hemp products and solutions with small amounts of THC, the primary psychoactive component in cannabis, should not be considered as intoxicants. The legislation was originally conceived to persuade the cultivation with the plant for garments, bags and textiles. An ‘unforeseen
